Activities

Things I done and have been doing. In no particular order and not updated.

Lolapps

Study Group on Web Technologies
In 2006 and 2007, I've coordinated a group of students at FURG where we study web-based technologies. It was our interest to fully understand and share knowledge on every aspect regarding building websites and web applications, with a special focus on web standardardization.
ACM Programming Contest
MaratonaIn 2006 and 2007 I was the site coordinator for the Rio Grande site of the Programming Marathon, which is Brazil's phase for the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest
Robocup
FURG has one of the best teams for robot soccer in the country, participating in the F-180 sub-league (which I helped to start).
Lecturing
At FURG, I'm an assistant professor since 2006. I'm lecturing four disciplines in 2007: Algorithm Analysis, Introduction to Computer Science, Data Structures and Computer Laboratory. All of them to the Computer Engineering under graduation course.  In 2006 I have also lectured Computer Organization.

Since mid-2008, I'm working with the Department of Informatics at UFPel, lecturing for the Computer Science undergraduate course. I've been giving classes on Data Structures and Programming.
Google
In 2005 I was hired by Google as a consultant researcher, along with Raquel Recuero and Alex Primo, in order to find out reasons for orkut's success in Brazil. We presented the results in 2006, at the amazing Googleplex.

In 2006, with Raquel Recuero, we spent a month in India applying the same methodology to find out how Orkut grew in that country and how does the market compare to Brazil's.
Mandarim
I studied Mandarim Chinese for almost a year, but since I moved back to Pelotas, there is nowhere to continue studying. I've been trying to teach myself ever since.
